THE BACKSTORY

A Recruiter Ready to Launch. No Digital Presence to Launch With.

Nadia Simoes spent 15 years in the London finance recruitment market. She knew the industry inside out: the hiring cycles, the candidate frustrations, the gap between what big agencies promise and what they actually deliver.

When she decided to go out on her own, she had the expertise, the network, and the ambition. What she didn’t have was a website, a brand, a logo, or any digital infrastructure. Hour Recruitment existed as an idea and a Companies House registration. Everything else needed building.

She needed someone who could take a concept and turn it into a live, working business in weeks, not months. One person who could handle the branding, the design, the copy, the tech, and the SEO.

THE PROBLEM

Starting a Business Is Hard. Starting One Without a Website Is Harder.

Recruitment is a relationship business, but in 2026, the first impression happens online. Before a candidate sends a CV or an employer picks up the phone, they Google you. If there’s nothing there, there’s no trust.

Nadia needed more than a homepage. She needed a platform that could list jobs, accept applications, collect CVs, and present her brand with the same professionalism she brings to her actual work. And she needed it in under two weeks.

THE CONCEPT

Boutique Positioning, Premium Execution

The recruitment industry online is a sea of blue gradients and stock photography of people shaking hands in boardrooms. Every agency site looks like it was built from the same template. For a boutique agency competing against established names, blending in would be fatal.

I asked Nadia to send me four or five sites she admired. Not necessarily recruitment sites, just anything that felt like the right energy. From those references I extracted the common threads: clean layouts, confident typography, dark backgrounds with warm accents, and space to breathe.

Navy (#0d1b2e) as the primary, gold (#c8a84b) as the accent. Cormorant Garamond for headings, Sen for body text. The combination signals “boutique professional” without trying too hard. It’s the visual equivalent of Nadia’s own approach: personal, considered, and confidently understated.

THE SOLUTION

Everything a Startup Needs, From One Person

This wasn’t a website project. It was a business launch compressed into two weeks. Brand identity, copywriting, a five page WordPress site with video hero and animated counters, a fully functional jobs platform with search and application forms, SEO foundation with Rank Math, email deliverability via Brevo SMTP, DNS configuration, and a comprehensive handover guide.

Every word on the site was written from notes taken during our first call. Nadia’s voice, my structure. The first draft captured exactly what she wanted to say.

The jobs platform runs on WP Job Manager. Nadia adds and manages listings herself. Candidates browse by keyword, location, job type, and remote status. Applications come through directly. No third party platform fees, no monthly subscriptions. She was self-sufficient from day one.

THE RESULT

First Applications Within Two Weeks

The site went live less than two weeks after our first conversation. Within that same window, Nadia received her first job applications through the platform.

She’s now actively posting jobs, pushing out social media content, and building her client base with a digital foundation that looks and functions like it belongs to an established agency. The jobs platform is live and working, the brand identity is consistent across her site and social channels, and she has the tools and knowledge to run everything herself without picking up the phone.

Great to work with and great team! Had really good ideas I didn’t even think of. Couldn’t have asked for better!

WHY THIS MATTERS

You Don’t Need an Agency to Launch Like One

Most new businesses spend their first months navigating a maze of separate suppliers. A branding agency for the logo. A web designer for the site. A copywriter for the content. An SEO consultant for visibility. Each one has their own timeline, their own process, their own invoice.

By the time the site goes live, three months have passed and the budget is gone.

One person. One process. Two weeks. That’s the value of working with a generalist who goes deep, not a team of specialists who each know one thing.
